La Lista Rossa dell'IUCN elenca 70 specie Europee a rischio, mentre solo nel 2004 ne erano state individuate 40.
Le attività di ricerca e conservazione come quelle portate avanti dal Centro di Ricerca sulla Migrazione degli Uccelli di Ponza sono fondamentali per contribuire a conoscere meglio lo stato delle specie ornitiche, le minacce e le risorse che abbiamo per proteggerle.
Centri come il nostro esistono solo grazie alle donazioni e ai contributi di donatori e partecipanti e le nostre attività sono possibili solo grazie all'aiuto di volontari operosi che dedicano il loro tempo alla stazione di Ponza.

The IUCN Red List now treats 70 European bird species as being of global conservation concern, compared to 40 species in 2004.
Research and conservation initiaitves like those carried on at the Ponza Research Centre on Bird Migration are fundamental to contribute to better understand the status of the bird species, what threaten them and which resources we have to protect them.
Centres like ours exist only thanks to charitable donations and contributions of donators and participants, and our activities can be carried on only thanks to the committment of hard-working volunteers at the station of Ponza.
