Il maltempo se n'è andato per un po' e ci ha permesso di proseguire con le nostre attività. Ed ecco che il weekend, per lo più soleggiato e in assenza di vento, ci ritrova impegnati alle reti.
Sabato abbiamo catturato poco meno di 200 uccelli, fra cui un bellissimo esemplare di martinpescatore. Buona parte delle catture, però, sono state effettuate in serata, al crepuscolo, quando circa un'ottantina di pettirossi sono passati per le nostre reti.
Domenica abbiamo inanellato circa 270 uccelli: la giornata è cominciata con una bella beccaccia, per poi continuare con il primo esemplare di culbianco della stagione, e si è conclusa con una piccola 'pettirossata' di 95 individui al crepuscolo.
Si prevede un lunedì proficuo e vi faremo sapere al più presto come è iniziata questa seconda settimana di inanellamento!
The bad weather left the island for a while and it allowed us to keep on with our activities. During a sunny and calm weekend, we have been busy at the nets.
On Saturday we caught a bit less than 200 birds, among which a beautiful specimen of Kingfisher. Most of the birds, however, has been caught in the evening, during the dusk, when more or less 80 robins arrived at our nets.
On Sunday we rang about 270 birds: the days started with a beautiful woodcock, it continued with the first specimen of wheatear and it finished with a little 'wave' of 95 robins at the sunset.
We forecast a fruitful Monday too, we will let you know very soon how this second week of ringing has started!
