Giorni di pioggia e vento e giorni di bel tempo si avvicendano sull'isola, influenzando così le nostre attività.
La settimana corrente è iniziata col maltempo, che ci ha costrretti a chiudere per quasi un giorno e mezzo. Ma poco dopo la riapertura di martedì pomeriggio, abbiamo ricevuto una fantastica sorpresa alle nostre reti: un bellissimo esemplare di gufo di palude (Asio flammeus), il secondo catturato a Ponza (il primo è stato inanellato il 18 aprile 2018, clicca qui per il blog post).
Days of rain and wind and days of good weather alternate on the island, thus influencing our activities.
The current week started with bad weather, which forced us to close for almost a day and a half. But shortly after the reopening on Tuesday afternoon, we received a fantastic surprise fat our nets: a beautiful specimen of short-eared owl (Asio flammeus), the second captured in Ponza (the first was ringed on April 18, 2018, click here for the blog post).
I giorni successivi ci hanno permesso di incrementare un po' le nostre catture giornaliere e di aggiungere nuove specie per l'anno in corso alla nostra lsta, fra cui: fanello (Linaria cannabina), sterpazzola di Sardegna (Sylvia conspicillata), upupa (Upupa epops), e sterpazzolina (Sylvia cantillans).
In the following days our daily catches increased a little and we were able to add new species for the current year to our list, including: linnet (Linaria cannabina), spectacled warbler (Sylvia conspicillata), hoopoe (Upupa epops), and subalpine warbler (Sylvia cantillans).
Dopo che un arcobaleno che ha segnato il ritorno del bel tempo, sono tornati a regnare sole splendente e calma di vento sull'isola, mentre il numero delle nostre catture si è ribassato parecchio. After that a rainbow marked the return of good weather, bright sunshine and calm wind reign on the island, while our ringed-bird figures are very low today.
